An FOI request has asked which ombudsman have taken which courses from a brief list. The answer does not give the names of who has taken the courses or when, but it is interesting because it reveals that apparently vital courses are optional.
Since the only way to challenge an Ombudsman’s decision is by judicial review, I would have thought the course covering JRs might be compulsory, but of course, a JR is beyond the reach of most complainants so the issues surrounding them don’t come up much.

o publishing decisions
o the role of the ombudsman
o law for non-lawyers
o public law and judicial review
Interestingly, FOS have refused a different FOI request to publish info about a training course on Judicial Reviews.
