A new academic report by Dr Naomi Creutzfeldt is part of a larger study into the impact and legitimacy of ombudsmen schemes in Europe . The answer to the question of trust depends on which ombudsman is being considered. It seems that only 50.7% of complainants have confidence in private ombudsmen and an appalling 12.4% in public ombudsmen. There more to read but the schemes do not seem to be as well trusted as they should be.
